Trading in dirhams
A business sets the currency it trades in, and every price, receipt and report is in that currency. Money is never converted behind your back: a report never adds two currencies together, and a total is shown in the currency it was taken in.
The platform’s own subscription price is shown on the pricing page in the currency the plan is sold in, which is a separate thing from what your customers pay you.
French and Arabic on the menu
Product names, descriptions, category names and every piece of storefront copy are yours to write — the platform stores what you type and shows it unchanged, so a menu in French, in Arabic, in both, or in Darija transliteration all work.
The interface itself is in English today. That is stated plainly rather than implied: menu content is multilingual because it is your text, but the back office has not been translated.
Delivery platforms, and your own ordering
Glovo operates in Morocco and can be connected, so those orders arrive in the same kitchen queue as everything else instead of on a separate tablet. The marketplace charges its own commission on its own orders.
Alongside that, ordering on your own storefront carries no commission at all — which is the argument for having both rather than only the marketplace.
Being found by people nearby
The public directory filters by country before anything is ranked, so somebody browsing from Morocco sees Moroccan businesses — a featured restaurant abroad cannot appear ahead of a local one.
A profile in that directory is included in the Free plan, which costs nothing. It shows your menu, your hours and your locations.
Common questions
- Is BrandOS available in Morocco?
- Yes. 3 businesses are listed in Morocco on the public directory, in Casablanca, Marrakech and Fes, and the platform is open to any restaurant, café or bakery trading there.
- Can I take payments in Moroccan dirhams?
- Yes. A business sets its own trading currency, and orders, receipts and reports are all in it. The till records cash and card payments, and a card reader can be connected through your own payment provider — the platform bundles no provider and takes no cut of a payment.
- Can my menu be in French or Arabic?
- Yes. Menu content is exactly the text you enter, so French, Arabic or both work. The back-office interface itself is currently in English only.
- Does it work with Glovo?
- Yes. Glovo can be connected so its orders arrive as ordinary orders in the same kitchen queue, with the money the platform actually took recorded against them. Connecting it needs partner credentials from Glovo.
- How much does it cost for a small café in Morocco?
- A directory profile costs nothing. The first paid plan — which adds the branded storefront, the point of sale, the kitchen display, inventory and promotions — is $9 a month, with longer billing periods costing less per month.
